Extra 1lb bottles that are safe to refill
Filled these from a 20lb propane tank with the Flame King stand and fill apparatus. Watch a video for how-to and voila! A safe way to have heater or stove bottles on hand always. Tape that hex wrench back on the top so it doesn't get lost.

Awesome product!
Easy to refill with the relieve valve. Best to weight the empty weight of the tank before refilling as it can be easy to overfill even with the relieve valve.

More Update- it is well worth the price.
I use them with my Flame King heater, and there is a world of difference from refilling throwaway cans. These can threads are brass (not steel), and mate perfectly with the heater brass fittings. Little danger of cross threading (from rough steel threads) and leaks. Also, they don't leak from either valve, when in storage. Refilled throwaways always leave propane scent in storage, after being bubble tested. These do not.................I bought two more of these because I have to use portable propane indoors for heat (Calif utility rates are unbelievable). I now refill them, 8 at a time, because setup takes most of the refill time. Please note that parts subject to leak on these are made of brass, which needs to be sprayed with a soap solution every time.Refilling throw-away cans is only for the foolish. Their orfices are made of steel, that rusts and corrodes. Their steel can is thin gauge, and rusts easily. Please do your homework on this.............I have a lot of Flame King products, and they are quality. They are also overpriced, and a lot cheaper at the mart store. I deducted two stars because it cost me too much. After using them more, and watching videos of cutaways of disposable and Mr Heater tanks, I like Flame King tanks a lot more, and give them 5 stars. It is all about safety, and disposable tanks not only leak with valves intended for short life, but also rust, and have thin walls. Mr Heater is better, but it has a secondary venting pin needed to vent, when refilling; simple is good, and I have no use for idiot-proof extra hardware, when Flame Kings simple Allen wrench does the same job, and is less likely to fail.

Much safer to re-fill than the green ones, DOT says do not re-fill for a reason. Why take a chance.
Bottles are fine much safer than the green ones that are not safe to re-fill contrary to UTube videos. The hex key can be stored in the plastic cover by drilling a small hole in plastic cover and inserting to keep from getting lost, see picture.

hard to refill
For some reason, I cannot refill one of them. I have to put it into the freezer for a whole night then problem solved. The build quality is very good and easy to use.I have been using it for several days, so far so good.Update after several picnics with it:Both of them started to have problems with refills.I have to buy another refill kit. It can only work well with the original refill kit (very expensive). If you like me are using a $10 refill kit, you can meet different issues. I have to drop the rating from 5 to 4.

What those YouTube videos don’t tell you
First off I’ll say that as of writing this review, I have about 20 of those Coleman canisters that I still do keep around in case the zombie apocalypse actually happens but I don’t plan on using them right now. As an over the road truck driver I definitely needed a safe alternative to cooking food with these fuel cans and despite some of the hand ringing over the DOT standards of refilling cans, I do actually encounter DOT quite a bit, so I thought I would err on the smart side of just doing it right So let’s talk about refilling these. What I use is a hose set up with an extra cut off valve. That gives me a little distance from the Phil up tank. It’s the Aupoko Prapane Refill Adapter Hose, (350PSI High Pressure) and it works quite well for my needs and is very affordable. One thing I will say is when I finish filling hoses I typically leave this hooked up to the tank until the tank is empty and just basically vent off what’s left in the hose so the hose is left empty until I come back to refill some more cans. So one of the things that no one ever talks about on YouTube that I have found so far is the fact that you really need to be wearing gloves when you’re playing with these cans because you’re going to have to vent off as you’re filling it up until you start seeing streams of vapor, strong vapor and that can burn depending on how you’re going to place these cans and you also have to disconnect the cans and when you do that after you’ve closed The valve of course there’s gonna be a little bleed off so either take a towel and wrap around the connection or just another glove is what I use and I just wrap it around the top of the tank until it expels what’s left out of that small space that way you don’t get burned The other thing is even though these cans all come with that Allen wrench I bought the T handle Allen wrench (5/64) that’s longe and It makes it easier to keep my hands in the right place as I’m watching for the vapor to come out and close the valve. Oh, and one other thing, most people may or may not realize that these cans and a lot of their products are made in Thailand, which is where I spend sometimes half or the whole year as I have family there and my wife is Thai and I can tell you that 99% of the Mom and Pop restaurants or street food vendors or anywhere in that country Use the products, especially the tanks, that are made specifically from this company for a reason.
