Seems just right
If I say 'not too big and not too small' what I mean is it's not so big as to trip over easily and not so small it wanders off on its own. It's made of metal so got enough weight to it - and seemingly more than robust enough to be in a workshop ;-) For info, I wired to a four-outlet extension lead so that I can turn on/off kit like a disc sander and grinding wheel ***and the (rather noisy) dust extraction*** and have them power up all together when my foot is on the switch. And, if anything went seriously wrong, as soon as my foot left the switch the power would be cut. Not that I intend to trap clothing or such like in rotating power tools - but best be on the safe side, eh? Yet to try using it with my soldering iron, hot glue gun or hot air gun - i.e. stuff I'm known to forget about ;-)

quality
these are an industrial rated footswitch in diecast aluminium alloy. They contain a standard microswitch on a bracket which is replaceable. There's a nice flexible 3-core cable, fitted through a strain-relief cable gland. They're not huge, so I wouldn't recommend them being stamped on by a steel toe cap boot in a metal foundry, but they're great for pharmaceutical, electronic or other light industrial use. Although rated for mains use, the built in cable does not contain an earth conductor but this can be retro fitted later as I have done.

Nice
Works well. Very well made, as far as it goes. (Had to improvise an earth connection.)Good clicky feeling, so you really know you've pressed it. It's possibly a bit loud for some folk, but I quite like the heavy clunk it makes.Disassembly is tricky, but not impossible.

It works!
Having tried a different brand that failed after a short period of time - getting stuck on which was very dangerous - this one looks to be much stronger and having given it a good "work out" so far so good!I am using it for a piece of machinery that requires a momentary on with foot then off as soon as you release for safety reasons. This does just that.

A solid product but lack of an earth cable is concerning
I bought this foot pedal to control a pottery machine. My intention was that I could press the pedal to start the motor and remove my foot to stop it. Simple, right? Well... not exactly. It turns out that this pedal has a main live, an L1 and an L2. When the pedal is not pressed the main live goes through L1. When the pedal is pressed the live goes through L2. In my case (described above) I did not want there to be a live cable when the pedal is not pressed. Now the easy thing to do here was to simply not wire the L1 into my pottery machine and safely terminate the cable. To my surprise however I noticed that the pedal did not have an earth. Given the pedal is metal and would be on the floor where there is a risk of spillage this made the item potentially very dangerous. The cables do not conform to EU colours and so I suspect the CE mark to be invalid. Now at this point if I were not 100% confident in electrics I would have sent the item back. As I am, I decided to modify it. I did this by:1) Taking the pedal apart.2) Cutting the L1 and securing it to the metal casing to act as an earth using one of the nut and screws inside.3) Connected the other end of the same L1 cable to the earth on my pottery machine.4) Tape up both ends of the L1 with earth tape to clearly denote it as such. (Buy here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Green-Yellow-Earth-Electrical-Insulation/dp/B076TCLKT1/ref=sr_1_4?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1543600597&sr=1-4&keywords=earth+tape)Once connected up it worked exactly how I wanted and has held up well. Do note however that I could only do this because I did not need an L1 cable and so could re-use it as an earth. If you need an L1 and L2 then it's not worth the hassle completely rewiring this thing and I would leave it alone.Overall a well-built pedal but the lack of an earth is inexcusable. The non-EU cable colours are not the end of the world but let it down.

Ideal for triggering the puller on my racquet stringing machine
I string sports racquets for a hobby and operating the string puller is via a button on the puller. Having a foot switch is better as I have both hands free. It's a solid cast alloy switch and the only gripe is that the pedal fulcrum is at the front, meaning that you have to put your foot squarely on the pedal rather than you toe just at the front. But all said I wouldn't change it and it operates as desired.

Sturdy but limitations to its application
The switch seems substantial and works well. It would be helpful to have instructions for wiring the switch into the tool but one of the previous reviewers provided invaluable guidance. Delighted with it although if your tool has a nvr switch please be aware that this switch will only switch it off not on. Nevertheless still very useful with my scroll saw.
