Kun Original - 4/4 Violin Shoulder Rest

Since my 12 year old son received his new shoulder rest he plays much better according to his teacher

it was really akward for me holding the violin, until I bought this shoulder rest. I recommend it to every violin player out there.

I love this shoulder rest it is my favorite. I love how adjustable this is and it sits perfectly. I have had a Kun in the past I was worried this would be the same but I’m was wrong it is. The only negative this I have to say is that it doesn’t collapse I think I remember and like some of the reviews showed. But I have played since I was in elementary school and 100% recommend this. Even though it doesn’t collapse it still fits in my violin case.

So my previous review was as follows:“This shoulder rest is probably defective🤔. It does not fit my violin very well (it falls off I’ve tried moving the knob to different placements as well as the hinges)... The reason why I decided to buy the KUN shoulder rest (selling for about twice the amount from a starter company) was because my teacher had allowed me to use her shoulder rest when I first started, it was well made and I wanted to go with something that would last. Not sure if its bad product, a defective unit, or maybe user error (which I doubt). Anyhow I give this product two stars.”With all the embarrassment in the world it was user error, the grips or hinges are screw on and for the longest time I kept getting it wrong, this is why the shoulder rest would not stay on😅. Overall it is well made, however I wish the hinges were foldable and not removable, then perhaps I would not have thought that my shoulder rest was defective.

Replaced my old shoulder rest after many years of service. I hope this one will do the same.

This is the most comfortable shoulder rest I have ever owned. Very easy to use, great value. The only thing I don't like, is it won't fold flat, to fit in case.

I largely don’t use a violin shoulder rest for short practice sessions however one is helpful if I’m playing more than an hour at a stretch. Previous rests are wobbly, tend to fold over or come loose, have unstable feet mounted on spring steel swivels. This one has a stable no-swivel footing, doesn’t turn over nor fold. Since the feet are not spring mounted, but directly screw into the legs, it doesn’t wobble. It is easy to adjust and applies enough but not too much pressure on the fiddle.Edited to add that when I threw away the box I noticed that this device is made in Canada. Fantastic!

The value of this item is worth a lot more than it cost. No more neck muscle spasms. I have not owned another so I do not have anything to compare this one to except holding my violin without one. It is very easy to put together and needs no tools. It arrived on time as well. It secures the instrument very well and is adjustable. The best part is that I can simply twist the braces that hold the sides of the violin and place it inside my case without having to put it in the front pocket, which is essentially a thin book holder.
