chemical taste - hard as a brick - seriously DON'T BUY THIS
I love torrone candy, and nougat in general. I decided to try this brand, and bought both this and a soft nougat with hazelnuts. I tried hazelnut first and didn't like the taste very much, it had a chemical aftertaste, and I thought maybe it was the hazelnuts, because I had only had torrone with almonds in the past? Maybe the hazelnuts created a weird amalgam of nastiness when coupled with the nougat? So I tried this hard nougat with almonds;First off it is so hard that I could only cut it with a large serrated bread knife (which splinters it into shards) It won't even break if you hit it on the edge of the counter, or with a hammer.I don't get how they believe people can cut and serve this. And seriously, what's with HARD NOUGAT anyway? Isn't the best part of nougat the chewy creaminess? Why does it have the consistency of a cinderblock? When I finally manages to chip off a few shards I got to the taste; it has a worse chemical taste than the soft hazelnut. It tastes like gasoline smells. The use-by date is 2025, so it can't be that it's stale. So what do they expect people to do with this tooth-chipping monstrosity? And even it it CAN be eaten, why would I want a mouth full of gasoline fumes? DISGUSTING!I won't ever buy this brand again.

Childhood memory
A taste from my childhood and memories of my Italian grandmother. This is a hard, crunchy torrone, not the soft chewy kind in the little boxes. Very tasty!

Just awful!!
If I could rate zero, I would. The Sperlari nougat arrived HARD AS A ROCK!! It's supposed to be chewy. I had to whack it with my large chef's knife to break off a piece, and then couldn't bite it. Awful, and I love nougat.

Too hard to bite
Although the fresh date was 8/2023, it was a solid rock and uneatable. I kept it at room temperature for 24 hours before opening just in case it arrived frozen. I ordered because my local store only stocks during the holiday season and they were sold out. The last remaining one I had from the store had the same freshness date but was soft and delicious. I had to toss the one I ordered in the trash and wasted $10.

Torrone from italy
The product was delicious, lots of nuts. Only problem was hard as a rock. If you have loose sensitive teeth? This is not for you.
