You don't have to program it. put in the batteries and done.
Purchased for my Sony TV and works like it should.

Works fine.
The hardest part was getting the back battery compartment cover to pop off. No setup required, the remote worked fine as soon as the two AAA batteries were installed. I find the larger size of the replacement remote control easier to use. And I like that it uses replaceable AAA batteries rather than requiring a USB recharging cable.

Low EMF Replacement Remote!!!
One of the issues in remediating RF from the Apple TV is not only do you need to shield the box itself, but the remote also has fairly strong RF signal - even when not in use. You don't want to sleep with it right next to you. The good thing is the newest Apple TV still leverages IR remote control. You can use pretty much ANY IR remote - but this one has the look and feel of the original. You do lose voice control and the touch sensitive pad - but I've always found the touch pad to be more of an annoyance. And for security reasons, I'm not wild about sending my voice into the cloud for data collection so that wasn't a huge loss either. This remote for us was the perfect low EMF replacement. The guide that comes with it has an error though. When programming the TV controls, the manual says to hold the button on the original remote until the new remote flashes and then push the button you want programmed on the new remote. That wasn't working. Instead press and hold the button on the original remote until the new remote starts flashing. Then release the button on the original remote and press the button on the new remote you want programmed. Then it will work. No need to teach it if the TV controls work right out of the box. It's a bit over-priced in my opinion but if you want a remote that looks and works like the original and less EMF, this fits the bill.

Better than the Apple one, actually
This remote was a life saver and better than the one that came with the Apple TV. We brought the Apple TV in our RV and forgot the remote. Got this one quickly from Amazon and it linked up on the first try, works great, and feels better in the hand than the one that came with it.

Looks the part but NAH
This is a basic universal remote. You could find a less expensive one. My Apple Remote with volume broke so I tried this one. The problem is once you turn the volume on this remote it glitches out and stops working on the Apple TV and actually stops working all together then starts working again after a long wait. They only mention in the manual it won’t work if you have 2 Apple TVs but it didn’t do a good job with the tv volume and connected Apple TV either. Now I’m just going to get the Apple Remote because this thing is cheaply made.

Remote works but isn’t like the original
This works as it should out of the box HOWEVER it’s like the TEMU version. Extremely lightweight and uses aaa batteries. If you like your original but it got damaged or lost, don’t buy this one.
