Left handed
Works well if you're left handed.

Sturdy, good quality European style peeler
Recently moved to the US and immediately cut myself pretty bad with the Y peelers you usually get here. So happy I found the EU style one. Works great and haven't cut myself yet!

Works well but it has a different technique.
Others commented (complained) that this is a left handed peeler. It isn't. It is intended to be used pulling toward you, pulling your thumb and fingers together, fingers on the peeler, thumb on the veggie. You use your thumb to leverage the peeler. So, if you're used to a peeler that you push away, that's not how this is designed to be used. With that said, it isn't difficult to pop the blade assembly out and reverse it, which I did (keep the plastic guard on the blade while you do that.) With it set up to peel away from you it works really well for long vegetables like carrots. Set up that way it's not very good for peeling something like an apple.I do share the comments about rusting. It does seem to have a propensity to rust but that isn't show stopper for me.(The absolute best peeler we have is an ancient Ecko that has a carbon steel blade and has a bit of rust. But it's still the best after 40 years of use.)The blade on this peeler is very sharp and replaceable (no idea where to find one, tho'.)I'm actually ordering a second one of these to keep as designed - pull to peel set up.If you peel a lot of veggies like cucumbers or carrots this peeler will work great if you reverse the blade.

Really disliked peeling towards myself. Easy to flip it around though! Rusted in a month, Returned.
This thing peels great, but I didn't like peeling towards myself, just couldn't figure out how to hold a carrot well and go towards me. Didn't try but one carrot, admittedly.Looking at it though, it's trivial to lift the handle side, pop that blade structure out, flip it around, put it back in...I've not used it much that way yet, but it seems it should be fine!Edit: in about a month it was rusting. Shame they couldn't use stainless or rustproof metal for the nuts, simple fix. I've used it maybe a half dozen times, hand washed and dried within minutes of use, since I clean as I cook. Still rusting. Returning today.

A GREAT Classic Peeler
I was delighted to find that this classic peeler is still available. My late wife was originally from Belgium and we had brought several of the FAMOS peelers (the apparent predecessor of this Westmark) with us when we moved to (for her) / back to (for me) the US over 50 years ago (they are still going strong). We always found them to be MUCH more useful than the typical American swivel peeler. She used them to peel all sorts of vegetables while I used one to make excellent citrus peels for bar use. When I saw these, I bought two to give to our two grandkids so they don't have to wait for me to "move on" before they can have their own editions of this EXCELLENT peeler.

Just like how it was 30 years ago
My dad had the same peeler bought from Germany back in the 80s, and it has been the best peeler I’ve used since. So glad to find the same one 30 years later, and it’s as good as I’ve remembered.

It’s okay…..but
I like the original one better. It has a larger handle.
