End of an Era
The new recipe is absolutely awful. I ate these as a child with my grandparents for nearly 20 years. Now they are gone, and so is my favorite veggie patty.

This will do.
The texture is a step up from toast. The appearance vaguely suggests a beef patty. The flavor is acceptable, and would be greatly enhanced in a hamburger bun, with sauteed mushrooms and onions, as Stroganoff using veggie gravy. You could use the Crumbles version as the meat in chili or bolognese.

Morningstar Farms changed their formulation in early 2018. These new products are just awful: try anything else, it can't get much worse than these!

I've been eating these for years, my fave (supermarket) veggie burger. then i bought a package... and thought they'd gone 'bad'. nope, it's the new recipe: an awful-tasting thing with a weird orange color. healthier than the previous version? slightly. better? not at all. makes me very sad.... 😞
