RonsealRSLSFAB5L 5 Litre Shed and Fence Preserver - Autumn Brown

Soaks right in and really protects the wood from rotting. I painted a test patch on a new shed then didn't get round to completing it for a while the area under where I painted this remained clean while the rest of the shed darkened with mould. Shows this stuff really works.

As advertised

Really good product, covers well and seals the wood. The dye also makes the knots in the wood vanish. Its slightly smelly but as long as you are in a well ventilated area, its not an issue. Requires white spirit to clean brushes.

I used Ronseal over 30 years ago and it lasted and kept my wooden gate perfectly preserved. I have now used the green on another gate and it is a rich satisfying green. As it says on the tin it really needs 3 coats, getting darker and richer with each application. Like any preservative product I would suggest a one coat refresh after 3 years.

Not cheap but a little goes a long way

Having used Cuprinol products before, this was my first experience with Ronseal. It is quite runny, so use a thick brush, and, not having read all the reviews, I decided to macho it out without gloves - this stuff stings, so on with the thick rubber gloves and old clothes and you'll be fine. Happy to recommend - good coverage and consistent colour (shake tin often, as advised).
