A good value printer
A very good printer-simple to set up and use

Wouldn't link to WiFi, used my old ethernet cable
I would have preferred to give the Canon MG3600 three and a half stars, but this isn't an option.I didn't find the instructions for setting up the printer particularly clear or concise. The printer wouldn't link to my laptop through WiFi, fortunately I had kept the ethernet cable from my old printer so linked this and the laptop with the cable. It seemed more of a faff setting the Canon printer up compared to setting up my old printer a few years ago. However the printer is now working and it can print double sided which is good.

It works!
I was a hesitant about buying this printer - I didn’t have much money to spend and have always had a good experience with Canon printers but was a bit put off by the reviews here. I had had a horrible experience with an HP printer so I decided to go for this one and send it back immediately if it didn’t do the job. But, hey! Despite having some difficulties setting it up (but definitely not insurmountable, and I am very old!) it is absolutely what I need. I only use it 2 or 3 times a week to print out reading materials for my classes or detailed instructions with colour pictures for my home use, but it does all of that fine. I can print from my iPhone and iPad successfully. The colour is good. I love it! No idea about ink costs yet but perhaps buying generic cartridges might be an answer. I was slightly put off by the idea of a single colour cartridge but decided to go ahead anyway. I have no regrets at all so far - but be assured that I will add to this review if anything goes wrong.

Great printer for home use
This was easy to set up and link to my phone and tablet as well as my laptop. The ink cartridges were easy to install and it works well.

Extremely difficult to connect
Appallingly complicated to install. Even after downloading the software it’s extremely complicated. Doesn’t even tell you when to turn on WPS on router. Spends 2 minutes trying to find the printer on network before you’ve connected it. Utterly stupid and frustrating. So far I’ve spent 45 minutes and I still can’t print

A nightmare to connect
It seems to be a great little printer, however it is a nightmare to setup. My last Canon printer was so easy to connect wirelessly. This is so difficult. It took me 2 hours to finally connect it. I followed the instructions to the letter and it kept failing to connect. I followed convoluted instructions on the Canon website to fix the problem, that didn't work either. There's the option to connect via a cable, but it's not a standard USB and they don't supply it with the printer. My advice - do not follow the instructions provided. I found a 90 second video on YouTube that resolved it. Simply put the printer into pairing mode by pressing and holding the WiFi button until the power button starts to flash, then press B and the WiFi button. This will make the WiFi light flash. Then press the WPS button on your router. The printer will then connect to your WiFi. Then add the printer to your laptop via the standard "add printer" function.None of this information is in Canon's instructions. It was a very frustrating experience and I nearly threw the printer through the window!
