Respro® Allergy Mask White - XL

These masks are great and really work in the most part. I live in a highly polluted area with lots of grass about and I have a bad allergy and no nose hair to filter out gunk.The good points:The velcro back makes it very easy to put on and once fitted round the nose it will stay put even when your bending over etc.They come with various kinds of filters, I have to use the one for small particle/allergy pollution.They do work better then anything I have yet to find.The bad points:They are rediculously expensive compared with the rest of the market. You can get replacement filters, parts etc but they are ALL TOO EXPENSIVEThe metal piece over the nose will break in two after prolonged adjustment. I am sure there is a better system to this.Respro just say to not adjust it too much but that is impossible.The two dial pieces that fix the inner mask to the other mask can break as they are only held together with a little strip of plastic, so if your heavy handed you twist these off.I go through 2 of these each summer, as I wear one indoors for my dust mite allergy when doing the housework, and one outside for my allergies so it gets very expensive when the item doesn't last.One last thing, these don't protect your lungs against cold temperatures, but another one is available that does which from another company which has a felt outer layer and silk inner layer. It's called a Silk lined Cold Weather Mask of the I Can Breathe range.

I tried a medium, it was WAY too small. I tried a large, it was still too small. XL? It fit perfectly over my face and chin but I encountered a new problem. As other reviews for RESPRO brand masks might tell you, these masks have very bad strap designs. The only way to get a secure fit that seals over your nose and chin is to wear mask straps around the back of your head, but these straps are so thick the only way to do that is to wear the straps covering the lower half of your ears, which makes the mask fall. The straps also sit very low and have a curve, meaning they are designed to sit directly below your ears and wrap the base of your skull / top of your neck. This causes you to lose the seal just below and around the sides of your chin.I have no issues with the seller, they're perfect, it's just the company that designed this mask, Respro. It would be so much better if the mask itself (the facial portion) was this size but it utilized the straps of the Medium or Large version which fit more securely around the back of your head.

This mask gave me asthma attack twice when I wore it on 2 separate occasions. Make sure you get the right size.
