Good but small
This race is nice to have on hand as a new pantry stable if you’re looking to cut carbs and calories, but still keep texture and sides in your meals. It’s plant-based vegan gluten-free and easy to prepare so it’s perfect for stirfry or light meals or to even throw into a soup. The texture is chewy and works well as a substitute for traditional rice or greens. That said I’m minus a star because the packets are quite small at 40 g each. The serving size is modest more of a snack portion than a full meal base unless use multiple packs at once it would be great if larger sizes were available for better value so the quality is really good at stores easily and it is a nice option to make just a little bit at a time for those like me who will definitely eat too many servings if they make it all at once. Just be aware you may go through the pack quickly if you use it regularly.

Filling "rice" for 30 calories
Soeos konjac Rice is a great alternative to rice. It's made out of rice flour and konjac flour to mimic rice. For a little more than 1/2 cup of cooked rice, it's only 30 calories, which is way less than 90-145 calories of rice depending on the variety.I followed the boiling water directions and added 120g of water (1/2 cup) and let it sit for 15 min. The rice softened but there was too much water in the bowl at the end. Just pour the water out instead of microwaving because you'll get rice porridge. I did.The taste is like white rice. It tastes good. The texture is chewy closer to short grain rice eaten by Koreans and Japanese than let's say jasmine. But it's chewy like agar chewy. I mean not to the point of gummy chewy though. It smells like rice too though you'll never fool yourself into thinking you are eating real rice, but this is good and for 30 calories, it's great.

Slow to prepare, but a pretty good rice substitute
This Soeos Organic Konjac Rice is conveniently pre-portioned into six servings, but is not precooked, so it does take some preparation. The fastest cooking method is 8 minutes in the microwave, and I opted for the soak in boiling water method which took about twice as long. I like that it’s low in calories and carbs and shelf stable. It doesn’t have much flavor on its own, but the soft and chewy texture is satisfying.
