The lamp itself has a beautifully shaped glass shade and with an Edison Retro lamp it gives a warm glow to the room. I've hung it right in front of a large mirror and at night its glow is welcoming.But...The supplier really should have rethought the cord! It is 15 feet long (Yes that is right - no typo) and the dimmer switch is almost at the end. This cord had to be looped to two make shift hangers (none are supplied). Maybe this will get the lamp maker to improve the lamp and it would then be a wonderful addition to any home!

I like the look of the glass and fixture. It comes with the ugly black cord that you're going to have to cover with the chain of some sort. The cord does not detach without having to undo at the base. So there is no easy way to cover the cord. After damaging the 1st cord snipping chain links to fit around it, I had to buy a new one. And I spent 8 hours on this project. Had they designed with with a release of some sort so that you could easily string it through a chain or gave it a cord with some style it would have added great value for little cost.

This is perfect! We bought it for the back half of our living room. We have a long living room and then ceiling fan (only light) is in the front portion. My son's play room is in the back half and there is no light. Our ceilings are vaulted so it was going to be very expensive to add a light so instead we purchased this. It has worked beautifully. It is not as bright as I would like but that could be from the bulb that we chose. We got the same one that is pictured. Although, my husband did want to just get a traditional bulb and it would have been brighter. I like the look of the "Edison" bulb which is why I purchased this one in particular. I would definitely purchase again.

I should've read the reviews more. This does not come with any instruction manual what so ever, and you'll scratch your head a bit trying to figure out how it hangs. No wonder there's no photos of the ceiling fixtures! I bought this because I have a dark area in my living room and I wanted to adds some serious light to this area. The Edison bulb idea is nice, but you can put an Edison bulb in any fixture. This doesn't come with the bulb, so if that's all you're looking for, you might find a better option elsewhere.

I needed a light over my kitchen sink but did not want to pay an electrician to hardwire one in. It was easy to put together then I had my nephew help me hang it. I like that it almost invisible due to being clear. I used a vanity light bulb so you would not notice it either. The cord is very long so you should have plenty to spare. I have 9 foot ceilings and my outlet is not too far from the wall where it comes down. I just got some stick on cord clips to handle the unruliness of the cord. I do wish that it was available in a white cord option as the black is VERY obvious against light walls.

My original post is below, but wanted to update it since then. The seller got in contact with me about my complaint and offered to do just about anything to make me happy; they honestly did not mean to mislead me, and instead of blaming me for my mistake and for not paying close attention (which it was; read below), they took the full responsibility. This shows AWESOME customer service! -- you just can't find that anymore. I am bumping my rating from a two to a four. The lamp is actually kind of cool looking.-----------------------------------------------In the pictures, the lamp is HUGE! I mean like, after I ordered it I was wondering if I was going to have enough ceiling room to accompany it. But, my current living room is not lit and I wanted an industrial looking hanging lamp, so this fit the bill. WRONG! The only reason I gave this even two stars is if I did my part, and actually read the details instead of just relying on the pictures, I would have known better and not ordered it. -- So, this is basically my fault for not paying very close attention to details. However, look at their pictures for this item. It DOES NOT REFLECT the 5inches the item actually is. Don't be fooled like I was.

I’d give this hanging light a 5 star but I don’t like the switch. It’s in the shape of a pyramid and difficult to twist. But, it’s bright and perfect to use over my craft desk.

This lamp is really nice and with the use of an Amber colored Edison bulb gives nice light over my table. Cord is black/brown dark... so I had a remedy... use cord/material to cover ... love my lamp... First was delivered and had a defect but both seller and amazon were very quick to respond and return/replacement went well.Hope this review helped you with your decision.
