Fun lens, very sharp, but not without its shortcomings
As most of you probably already know, this is a fun little lens. It's barely larger than a body cap, has the slick integrated lens cover, and manages to squeeze autofocus into that tiny package. Sharpness is remarkably consistent from corner to corner in my chart tests - as sharp or sharper than any other pancake out there with the possible exception of the Fujifilm XF 27 or Voigtlander options. It doesn't quite have the microcontrast and color quality as those competitors but it's no slouch, and for the price I have zero complaints. I wasn't expecting this level of clarity for under 100 bucks. The fixed f/4.5 aperture doesn't bother me either. One of my other favorite street lenses is the AstrHori 14mm f/4.5. I think that aperture strikes a great balance between functionality in most light and good sharpness with just a little character across the DOF. It isn't a low light monster or anything, so temper your expectations in low light and expect to crank your ISO.On the downside there is no manual focus option, so trying to milk what little bokeh/defocus you can out of the lens can be tricky, as you have to use single point AF and nail your spot. Also there are no filter threads so you can't use any ND filters in bright light, or a CPL or anything, which is something that I find very useful on the AstrHori f/4.5 lens. Next, the AF isn't the greatest. Even in good light and with static subjects the AF hunts a bit and may take a couple tries to lock, especially if there's not good contrast in your focus area. Forget about any complex focus tracking, or even using basic AF-C in most cases. Again, not surprising given the price point. Just be realistic with your focusing expectations and you'll be ok. Lastly, the MFD and close-up focusing aren't great so don't expect to get right up on your subject with this lens. It needs a little more room to breathe than you might expect. All in all it's a great street lens, and it's totally pocketable on smaller bodies like an X-A, X-E or X-Tx0 series. Definitely a screaming bargain, despite its flaws.

Good enough
It’s a fun lens. Sometimes the AF is a bit wonky but I’m not sure if that’s my fault for not setting the right focus area on my XT30ii. I usually have it to single point but found if I change it to zone or wide it’s a bit better. I bought it to see if I wanted to take the jump on the XF 27mm from Fuji and I definitely will mainly because I want better image quality but overall, it’s a good lens that im keeping to throw on until I get the upgrade haha

Great everyday carry
I got this lens specifically for rising my bike and during transit. It fits perfect in my pocket (attached to Fujifilm xt3). The clarity has been quite impressive.

AF is hit or miss with false focus indication
Good concept but bad product. The AF does not correctly focus and you have to turn off the camera to reset. I used it on my XT50 so there should have been no issues due to the age of the camera. I tried it on multiple fujifilm cameras and the same thing happened on all of them. There is no current update so that is not an issue as of now. Save your money and buy something better. It does not fill the void of the XF27, or any other manual focus 27mm lenses. I returned this item within two days.

Perfect Pocketable Lens For Fujifilm Line Of Cameras!
I am so happy Viltrox decided to make this lens for Fujifilm cameras! I originally got a version of this lens for my Sony A7 IV with the intentions to downsize that camera and make it more pocketable. At the time there wasn't a Fuji version and I was thinking that this would be an amazing daily carry lens for my Xpro2. Now Viltrox did it and it indeed is the perfect walkaround lens for my Fujifilm Xpro2!At not much larger than a lens cap the integrated lens cap is such a clever idea. Although I wish that this lens was able to accept filters the integrated lens cap makes it so easy to protect the front element when throwing it into a bag or backpack by sliding the front lever. There are however a few small quirks about this lens keeping in mind that this is a very budget lens for your Fujifilm camera system. One quirk is that this lens is set to an aperture of F4.5 meaning that you are unable to change the aperture of this lens at all. The opening is F4.5 so you have to adjust your other settings (iso, shutter speed) in order to compensate for exposure which can make it not so great for videography especially if you are trying to keep the shutter set to keep the 180 degree rule (1/50 for 24fps, 1/120 for 60fps, etc). Another quirk is the fact that this lens is not able to accept any kind of filter as it is not threaded in the front. This means that if you are using the lens to film videos than you are unable to attach a vnd in front or if you are photographing vehicles or landscapes than you are not able to attach a cpl to remove reflections. All of those negatives aside I really love using this lens. It's simple, has autofocus, and makes my lens so pocketable. I just keep this lens mounted so that I am ready to shoot at a moments notice and will switch from it when needed. As a photo lens this thing is amazing and the fact that it's a 42mm perspective on the crop Fuji sensor makes it close to how your eyes see the world. For about $100 (at time of review) this thing is amazing and such a low risk to give it a shot. It is now my everyday lens for my Xpro2.

Lots of character at a great value.
Obviously this isn't going to be the sharpest lens you buy. The size, weight, and character you get with this lens make it extremely portable and provide a very nice feel to your images. I think if you're looking for a fun travel lens or a good street photo lens, this is an easy buy at less than $100. I really enjoy the look and I think is makes for a good casual portrait lens as well.
