Fan is okay nice that you can control it, compact, fast transfer
This is a good enclosure to have as it is a bit more compact and provides cooling. Please note that this only fits the smaller m.2 drives so just make sure you check which one you want to put this into. It does not have a USB A plug with this but it does have an extension type c cable that is also a strap. It blends in well and is secure so you do not have to worry about it breaking off. It does take a little bit of effort to pull the cable out. This was able to connect to my thunderbolt port as well as my type c port for other devices but this is NOT a thunderbolt device. It is easy to open with the small screw drivers provided. The casing is compact and the small to help with cooling. I like that you can turn the fan on and off. There is only one default speed but it provides extra cooling. The extension cable works really well and is pretty durable. It plugs into the drive even with the casing on the outside. You can remove the enclosure from the casing. One thing to note is that the device may not plug into certain plugs if there are other things plugged in next to it or there is a phone case. It just does not have enough clearance and you will need to use the extension. I can use this with my desktop and laptop. I had no issues connecting this to pc or mac (although you may need to format the drive). The device can go up to 8 TB in terms of compatible storage. The transfer rate on this is pretty quick but varies based on the medium. The installation is not too difficult and it is straight forward. The case is durable even without the cover. Without the cover, the casing will scratch easily. One thing I will say is make sure you have the correct m2 drive that is compatible with this. Once it has been installed, the drive is well protected and secure so it will not move around and it had no problems with connection. It was a stable connection with no kind of disconnect. Overall I am happy with this enclosure and being able to use it with type c or thunderbolt (although it is NOT thunderbolt) for both my pc and mac. There were no drivers that I needed go install so if is a quick plug and play. The only thing I had to do was format the drive. The cable extension cable provided is a nice touch that allows you to use it as a strap and cable. The transfer speed is pretty good but again it all depends on the drive you put in as well. It is not too high priced consider it does come with a fan as well. I like that you can control the fan but there is only one speed so just be aware of that. It is not too noisy either.

Inadequate QC; USB-C connector is clearly installed lopsided.
As soon as it was opened it was obvious that the USB-C connector was not installed properly. It is clearly visibly tilted even before removing the circuit board, and it becomes even more obvious when looking at the exposed board. Clearly some insufficiencies in the assembly and inspection process. Not a good start for a not-inexpensive enclosure. The fan also only has standoffs on three of the corners, as the circuit board has components underneath where the final one would be. Probably ok, but again not ideal.

Handle is the cable! Can tell if the fan is doing anything, Good case.
So I am in a noisy enviroment most of the time and I can hear the fan, I can see moving, but I think I can feel it, I can't really feel air but there is certainly equipment for it in there. That aside, this is a nice enclosure. I tested it with the steam drive and a popular ssk enclosure. Note this SSK enclosure does not support 2230 drives, in that they fit but there is no hold down for 2230, while this one is only for 2230 drives. Speeds are comparable, the second drive I tested got hot quickly in testing but seems to be having a fine time in this case.I almost put this aside when I got it as I wasn't paying attention. I thought they wanted you to hang the hefty case and drive directly on the port but also the rubber surround would get in the way. No, there is a type C Female to Male cable, that doubles as the handle. I don't know how long it'll stay taught with use but I'm not planning to hang the drive by it.Tools are included and a heatsink pad. Actually by the way its made. you can hang longer drives out of this. Obviously you'd only do this in a pinch and without the lid of the case, the type C port is only connected by its solder points.

I'm loving this!
I put a 1TB SSD into this little jewel, initialized and formatted it, and couldn't be happier. They only want $33 for this, but as tiny as it is, it even has a little cooling fan built into the bottom. It's all metal and with the rubber cover over it, is pretty bulletproof. I used to carry a thumb drive around, but was never thrilled about the security or longevity of those files. With a good brand name SSD card it's as permanent as your computer SSD. I feel good about that and also not nervous about downloading files from somewhere into it, as I know it will be there at the other end. At this price, you can get one and add a 1TB card, and for only $100 you have a Terabyte of secure storage. That's a deal. I like it so much I'm going to get another one and put a 2TB into it. Definitely a five star item.

Unique NVMe enclosure, usable like a flash drive, with built in fan
This is a unique military-look enclosure for a 2230 NVMe drive, with a switched fan and carrying bumper/keyfob. It's unique among almost all of the NVMe enclosures I have in that it's got a male USB-C plug on it. You can plug it right into your computer, phone, or other device without a connecting cable. It comes with a male-to-female short extension in case it's needed to reach your port, but I tested it directly plugged into my Macbook Pro M2 Pro.With a fairly randomly selected Kioxia 256GB NVMe drive (used) I got about 950MByte/sec read and write with the 5GB Blackmagic speed test on the aforementioned Macbook Pro. This is in line with what you'd expect from a 10 gigabit interface, and is comparable to other enclosures I've tested. The fan seems pretty noisy for what it does, but smaller fans tend to be that way. Also, I'm beginning to see a pattern with NVMe enclosures in that this one comes with two kinds of screw, and small screwdrivers for both. The drive screw uses a standard slotted screwdriver, and the single screw holding the cover on is a star/torx type. I really wish they'd stick to one, preferably a phillips, but it's a minor gripe.Generally it meets expectations, and being able to use it without a cable is a plus. When I ordered, it was listed at $33, which seems like a fair price.
