My first one went south after about 3 years of almost daily use. I bought another brand but was sorely disappointed because it took way too long to toast 2 slices of bread. So after 3 months, I tossed it in the trash and bought another Granitestone. Never will buy any other brand of this item. It works great and it is quick (which you need).

My kids always beg for grilled cheeses. I usually say no because my adhd gets the best of me and I burn them every time… now my 8 year old and 11 year old make their perfect grilled cheese without mom deciding to clean the kitchen in between flips.

This unit works like a 20 year old unit. You can not remove the heating plates to clean around them and you have no other way to properly clean the unit fully. it has no temp control. its not large enough for two sandwhichs to fit fully without part of them being smashed outside the heating area and not being cooked. the lid pushes the bread apart when closing because it is attached to a fixed hinge point and it able to float higher for thicker sandwhiches.Do your self a favor and spend a little more for a full size and prope panani grill !!!!!!!!

Passed the test of my son stuffing it full and thick and the handle not breaking! Also it fit bread really well side by side. Unlike some smaller versions we've had

ordered August 14, 2021 used about 2 or 3 time a week plastic broke on 2 sides by Apr 2022 ... worked good except partly hard to clean will not shut on big sandwiches
