Not for the faint of heart
I liked it. The writing is unexpected and imaginative. Bill Kincaid narrates from a first person perspective of what happened after Spawn killed him in issue. Through this, he shows more emotion and appears to be more of a, "3D," character, not just a psycho who enjoys killing kids. The creation of this complex afterlife world, and the creatures that live there, is nicely done and I respect the time it took to brainstorm it all. However Spawn readers should probably know by now what they're getting into. This issue takes on a dense Horror-like genre, and those uncomfortable with images that appear gruesome and grotesque, could just save their hearts pain and continue to the next issue, and ask a friend for a summary of what happens because it's important to know.It was an intetesting move, bringing back Bill. It didn't occur to me reading #5, that killing him would mean he would end up in the realm of the dead. It should have been obvious to me, he killed kids, they died and went somewhere and now he's dead too. It shows that what comic creators do has a reason and issue 5 wasn't some weird plot change. It almost makes us wonder if Spawn was purposely meant to kill him, afterall, Bill was released under special circumstances from his life sentence.

What?
I'm confused, the story took a twist. Malebolgia is crazy for recruiting Billy Kincaid as a fighter in hells army. Damn

Spawn #8
Deceased child molester, Billy Kincaid, has arrived in hell along with a few others, one of the group is a young girl and he bides his time until the group get picked off by hells inhabitants. He gets more than he bargained for as the little girl is not what she seems and he finds himself reluctantly recruited to hells army as a spawn. This is the Alan Moore issue and I really liked the story, the world building of hell was nicely done with interesting detail about the different levels.Spawn is only shown through flashback as Billy continually relives being killed and he appears to be terrified of Spawn so it's somewhat poetic that he himself is made a spawn. Whilst he hates the idea at the moment I'm sure that will change when he finds out the power it gives him.
