Works great
Fit our 11lb cat perfectly. She is nick-named “chewy-face” but has been unable to chew this collar off yet.

As described.
Couldn't keep it on my kitten (because he's a little stinker) but it was exactly as described and was a nice inflatable collar. Would work perfectly on a small dog that isn't as crazy flexible as a cat.

Love this!
Got this for my cat in place of the regular cone and it works surprisingly well. Not only it prevents my cat from licking his front leg (he has a wound that needs to heal), but it helped him achieve new and unexpected ways to nap, something I thought he exhaust his options in.A few technical details - cat is a 13.5 lbs and size Small works well for him. With the collar on, he cant’s reach his face/ears or belly. He can reach the paws and some of the leg. If you turn the collar around (so the “opening” is on the back), it prevents my cat from reaching the front paws and legs entirely, but he can still reach some of his back paws, but not the legs. This might also vary depending on your cat’s built/flexibility, I have a domestic shorthair kitty. While this might not entirely replaced the regular cone, I can use it in most cases when the cat needs it on. And it doesn’t get in the way of him eating/drinking/sleeping or walking around. Definitely recommend this!

Deflating Experience
I bought this even after reading the less than stellar reviews and the experience was a bust, but all is not lost. My 11lb cat was doing terribly with the plastic cone so this looked like a perfect alternative. First off, I about busted a vein in both eyes trying to get the thing blown up. The valve needs to be loosened by pushing a Q-tip or something blunt to bend it open so the air can go in. Ok, that done, I applied it to the cat and he was much happier, but in about 15 min. (he was sleeping beside me) I noticed the item had begun to deflate. So my guess is that I was either sent a fresh faulty one or a used faulty one.I didn't want to take the time to return the thing so I removed the useless blow up carcass and hunted up some fiberfill in an old pillow and stuffed it into the cover shape. I added a piece of paper towel inside to cover the valve hole to keep the fibers from escaping. It's not quite as light weight as the blow up version, but it is still better than the plastic cone when it comes to comfort.Note: My cat can escape it, but he doesn't try as hard. Plus it is not a perfect solution for back leg wound healing. My cat, being agile like all cats are, can almost reach around the collar to get a good lick back there. It would be great for other areas of wound healing though.

Happy, yet disappointed-item had been used!
I have this a 2 star, because I got the package quickly. It works as described and my lol fellow is alot more comfortable the the hard cone he was wearing. But. When I opened the package. This item had been clearly used already. Hair all over it. (2 of the pucs above) I had to wash it before he could use it as well as sanitize it for my own safety being i had to put my mouth on it to blow it up. If there wasnt an immediate need for it. I would send it back for a new one or a refund. That was my dissapointment

Well worth the upgrade
Originally bought our cat a plastic circular cone for her allergy / flee sensitivity which would cause her to constantly bite and gnaw on her skin around her lower half. She eventually destroyed the plastic one from constantly kicking and tearing at it with her back feet. First day i Put this one on her, I did not see her attempt to kick it or seem agitated at all. At first this thing will seem bulky but If you pick up a plastic cone, you realize this thing weighs like 1/4th what the plastic ones do, putting 1/4th the weight on their necks. She did manage to wiggle the thing off in the night but I was very liberal with the velcro band so I assume I simply put it to loose. Much better then plastic, I highly suggest if your cat or dog is destroying the plastic variety.

Comfortable but still easy to get off for cats
Of the various types of cones/collars I bought for my cat with a hot spot on her neck, she was most comfortable in this one. Unfortunately if she plays rough with my other cat (which is quite often), she’d be able to get this off, even with ribbon/gauze threaded through the collar loops and tied on her neck for additional security. After catching her with this collar off 3 times and scratching her neck bloody, I had to stop using this.

Ok, but not for cats.
I got this as an alternative to a plastic cone for my cat, who is licking/biting his hindquarters raw. We put it on, without the collar threaded, just to see how he'd tolerate it. He had it on for less than a minute, kicked it off with one back paw and popped a hole in it. I don't know what I was thinking, inflatable for a cat. Seems well made, would probably be fine for a small dog...
